Another Fork in the Path Necklace
Sterling silver · Beach pebbles
Exhibition work — not for sale
This Necklace was a part of the Swamp Cartography collaborative project where Shannon Garson and I responded creatively to the Wallum areas of Southeast Queensland. The delicate flora is etched into this interactive necklace that takes a journey through the many meandering pathways found in the coastal lowland heath. I wanted to illuminate the botanical diversity and drama of the Wallum. Each piece may be flipped to reveal a different type of plant, thus this necklace can tell many different stories and show different ways to explore the wallum. The pebbles were all found on the adjacent beaches, worn down by millennia of sand and wave action. It was a finalist in the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize 2010 and is now in a private collection.
